Jor-El looked in the mirror at his new council robes.  His robes were green with a blazing red sun motif on his chest.  He had gotten onto the Council because the Council loved his idea.  Criminals may not even want to commit crime, as they know what the penalty is.

Suddenly he felt as if the room had shook a little because a small statue of Rao the Sun god had fallen to the floor and smashed.  He had recently discovered a mental tape that was created by his father.  He looked at the video.  It was labelled in Kryptonian.  It translated as "EARTHQUAKE THEORIES MENTA TAPE 1."  He looked at it and he saw some animation of Krypton rotating on its axis around the Red Sun.  The tape began saying something about Fluctuations between the rotation and earthquakes that had occurred in the past few years.  He decided to go to The Kryptonian Library.

At the entrance to the Library was a woman of such beauty that Jor-El stopped dead in his tracks.  She had long black hair and a flowing yellow dress.  She looked at him and walked over to him.

"Well I can not believe it.  If it isn't Jor-El.  I have followed your work on the various types of Concentrated food pills for many years and I was wondering if you could tell me how you find the time to research such phenomena with you being such a busy council member".

He looked at her with a smile.  He answered, "Well, I always find the time."

They both entered the Library and he walked to the Holocron section on Krypton itself.  The archive contained many facts and information on Kryptonian events and various happenings.  He looked at the archives with increasing uncertainty.  Something was not right.

He saw the beautiful lady in the yellow dress again outside.

"I was wondering if maybe you could come see an emotion movie with me tonight as I have nothing better to do."

The lady nodded her head.

She also said, "I meant to say my name is Lara Lor Van and I work at the Robotics Centre."

They shook hands and they walked off towards Jor-El's home.

That night they went to see a movie.  The movie poster proclaimed,

As Jor-El walked Lara home, she told him about her life and what she did for a living and as they got to the door of Lara's house.  Jor-El turned to Lara and said, "Have any Kryptonians ever had the grace of kissing the most beautiful woman on Krypton?  You surely put this Lyla Leroll to shame."

They both laughed and she said "She does seem pretty."

They looked at each other and they slowly kissed in the glow of the light of one of Krypton's three moons.

A FEW DAYS LATER

Crowds surrounded the Palace of Marriage as Jor-El and his wife to be Lara stood on the Jewel of Truth and Honour.  A priest stood holding both of their hands as he placed coloured bracelets on the wrists of the happy couple.  No other couple was allowed to duplicate the colour of the bracelets.

The priest uttered the marriage vows.

"No other couple shall wear the colours of Jor-El and Lara.  The vows you speak today will be blessed by the Heart of Rao.  Rao decrees that you shall be husband and wife."

They rushed outside as the crowds threw confetti at them.  They hopped into a waiting SkyCab and the SkyCab shot off to The SkyHotel.
